About the position

We are looking for a motivated and reliable leader to join our team as a Shift Manager in the Ground Handling Department. This position plays a crucial role in assisting Station Management with the operational activities of the station, ensuring that all operations are conducted in accordance with established policies and procedures. The Shift Manager will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of station operations, including labor relations, operational efficiencies, maintenance, facilities management, safety, and security. The successful candidate will be expected to keep company goals and customer expectations in mind while managing daily operations. This includes coaching and providing career development opportunities for staff, correcting non-compliant behavior, and imposing disciplinary actions when necessary. A strong understanding of the corporate culture, policies, and goals is essential, as the Shift Manager will need to implement these into daily work routines effectively. Administrative duties will also be a part of the role, including the preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly reports. Candidates should have a proven track record as a Team Leader, with the ability to pre-plan manpower and equipment needs. Familiarity with FAA regulations and Aircraft Operator Standard Security Program regulations is crucial. The role requires the ability to work independently, set and meet deadlines, and effectively manage conflicts among team members. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is also required, along with prior experience in internal controls processes for accountable items. This position will report directly to Station Management and will involve working in both a standard office environment and an airport ramp environment, which may be subject to varied weather conditions and elevated noise levels. The Shift Manager will be expected to handle physical demands, including lifting objects up to 70 pounds and assisting passengers with disabilities, such as pushing wheelchairs. Employment is contingent upon a valid driver's license, a clear driving record, a 10-year Criminal History Records Check, and a drug screen as required. Proof of high school or GED completion is also necessary, and candidates must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Proven success as a Team Leader with ability to pre-plan manpower and equipment.

  • Ability to work well with all levels of management and support staff.
  • Ability to defuse conflicts among team members.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous airline supervisory experience and working knowledge of Air Operations Area (AOA) environment.
  • Previous management experience in a hub environment.
  • Related experience working in an operations/dispatch environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of QIK, Sabre.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Aviation, Business, or related field.
