About the position
As a Shift Manager at McDonald's, you will play a crucial role in leading shifts and ensuring that customers receive a fast, accurate, and friendly experience every time they visit. This position is not just about managing the day-to-day operations; it involves providing coaching and direction to crew members and other managers during your shift. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of Quality, Service, and Cleanliness (QSC) to ensure that every customer leaves satisfied. Your leadership will help create a positive work environment where team members can thrive and deliver exceptional service. In this role, you will perform a variety of tasks that are essential to the smooth operation of the restaurant. This includes planning for each shift, monitoring team performance, and taking proactive measures to ensure that the team meets McDonald's standards. You will also be responsible for monitoring safety, security, and profitability during your shift. Effective communication with the next Shift Manager is vital to prepare them for a successful shift as well. Additionally, you may be tasked with meeting specific targets and helping your assigned areas achieve their goals. As a Shift Manager, your responsibilities will encompass food safety, internal communication, inventory management, daily maintenance and cleanliness, managing crew members, ensuring quality food production, providing exceptional customer service, maintaining safety and security, and training new employees. This position requires a positive attitude, flexibility, and a passion for working in a fast-paced environment. You must be at least 18 years old to qualify for this managerial role.
Responsibilities
- Lead shifts to ensure fast, accurate, and friendly customer service.
- Provide coaching and direction to crew and other managers during shifts.
- Plan for each shift and monitor team performance.
- Ensure the team meets McDonald's standards for Quality, Service, and Cleanliness.
- Monitor safety, security, and profitability during shifts.
- Communicate effectively with the next Shift Manager to prepare them for their shift.
- Meet targets and help assigned areas achieve their goals.
- Oversee food safety and internal communication.
- Manage inventory and daily maintenance and cleanliness of the restaurant.
- Train crew members and ensure quality food production.
Requirements
- Previous leadership experience, ideally in a restaurant, retail, or hospitality environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a positive attitude.
- Flexibility in scheduling to meet the needs of the restaurant.
- Must be 18 years or older to be a manager.
