About the position

The Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the operations of the 2nd shift in a manufacturing environment, specifically in the mass finishing industry. This role involves managing a team of employees, ensuring efficient workflow, and maintaining high standards of safety and quality. The supervisor will provide hands-on training, coordinate schedules, and monitor supplies to control operating costs, all while working closely with the Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Contract Shop employees in various areas including Blasting, Continuous Flow Vibratory, Waste Treatment, Tumbling, Shipping, and Maintenance.
• Train employees to properly set up and maintain equipment through extensive hands-on training.
• Compose daily work schedules in coordination with the Operations Manager to complete all jobs efficiently.
• Monitor supplies usage in the shop to assist in controlling operating costs.
• Ensure the efficient implementation of new jobs in collaboration with the Operations Manager and Technical Services.
• Inform the Operations Manager of any outside contractors needed for maintenance or repairs.
• Assist in the accurate completion of Employee Annual Performance Appraisals.

Requirements

• Management experience in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.
• Mid-level experience in machining or related fields.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Supervising experience in a warehouse environment.
• Mechanical knowledge relevant to the industry.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in the mass finishing industry.
• Familiarity with Jenkins software.
