About the position

As a Shift Supervisor at Starbucks, you will play a pivotal role in the daily operations of the store, ensuring that every customer receives an exceptional experience. You will lead your team of baristas during each shift, setting the standard for quality service and expertly crafted beverages. Your leadership will foster a positive and energetic environment, where you will motivate your team to excel and create a welcoming atmosphere for customers. You will be responsible for maintaining operational standards, including cash handling, store safety, and ensuring that all products meet Starbucks' quality expectations. This position requires a proactive approach, as you will be expected to take initiative and act as a role model for your team, guiding them in their tasks and encouraging their professional growth. In this role, you will also be responsible for training new partners, coaching existing team members on beverage preparation, and ensuring that all health and safety regulations are adhered to. Your ability to communicate effectively and build strong relationships with both customers and team members will be essential. You will need to remain calm and composed in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating your ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining a focus on quality and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities

  • Lead each shift and manage store operations to ensure a high-quality customer experience.
  • Motivate and inspire team members to deliver exceptional service and maintain operational standards.
  • Train and coach baristas on beverage preparation and customer service best practices.
  • Handle cash management and ensure store safety and security protocols are followed.
  • Foster a positive team environment that encourages collaboration and growth.
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Prepare and customize food and beverages according to standard recipes or customer requests.

Requirements

  • Customer service experience in a retail or restaurant environment - 1 year.
  • Six (6) months of experience in a position that required constant interaction with customers.
  • At least six (6) months of experience delegating tasks to other employees or coordinating the tasks of two or more employees.
  • Ability to direct the work of others and learn quickly.
  • Effective oral communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a leadership role within a retail or food service environment.
  • Knowledge of Starbucks products and beverage preparation techniques.
