About the position

The Shift Supervisor - Unarmed at Allied Universal® is responsible for overseeing the security operations of a high-profile client's facility during a designated shift. This role involves ensuring the safety and security of the property, enforcing policies, and managing a team of security personnel. The Shift Supervisor will also be involved in training, scheduling, and maintaining compliance with contract requirements, while providing excellent customer service and maintaining a professional demeanor in emergency situations.

Responsibilities

  • Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders
  • Provide direction and instruction to subordinates regarding the performance of their duties
  • Cross-train officers to enhance versatility and operational efficiency
  • Make productivity and cost reduction recommendations to management
  • Recommend physical security surveys and post orders
  • Advise on personnel actions for those under direct supervision
  • Oversee staffing, scheduling, and on-site training for security officers on shift
  • Ensure contract-required training and screening for security personnel are met
  • Maintain overtime to a minimum or predefined level
  • Inspect security personnel and their job performance regularly
  • Perform operations and related functions such as payroll and incident report maintenance

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current and valid driver's license
  • Minimum of one (1) year verifiable and successful security experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of verifiable work experience demonstrating excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to maintain poise during emergencies
  • Capability to understand and apply written and verbal orders
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Planning and organizing skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Coaching, mentoring, and motivating skills
  • Active listening skills
  • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Emergency Management Systems
  • FEMA Incident Command Certification; ICO 100, 200, 300
  • Working knowledge of EMS protocols, Medical First Responder or Emergency Medical Technician
