About the position
The Shift Supervisor - Unarmed at Allied Universal® is responsible for overseeing the security operations of a high-profile client's facility during a designated shift. This role involves ensuring the safety and security of the property, enforcing policies, and managing a team of security personnel. The position requires strong leadership skills, effective communication, and the ability to handle emergency situations while maintaining a high level of service and compliance with contract requirements.
Responsibilities
- Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders
- Provide direction and instruction to subordinates regarding the performance of their duties
- Cross-train officers to enhance versatility and operational efficiency
- Make productivity and cost reduction recommendations to management
- Recommend physical security surveys and post orders
- Advise on personnel actions for those under direct supervision
- Oversee staffing, scheduling, and on-site training for security officers on shift
- Ensure contract-required training and screening for security personnel are met
- Maintain overtime to a minimum or predefined level
- Inspect security personnel and their job performance regularly
- Perform operations and related functions such as payroll and incident report maintenance
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current and valid driver's license
- One or more of the following: Associate's degree or higher, active-duty military service, auxiliary police or police cadet service
- Minimum of one year of verifiable security experience
- Minimum of two years of verifiable work experience demonstrating excellent customer service skills
- Ability to maintain poise during emergencies
- Capability to understand and apply written and verbal orders
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Planning and organizing skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications
- Problem-solving skills
- Coaching and mentoring skills
- Active listening skills
- Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in Emergency Management Systems
- FEMA Incident Command Certification; ICO 100, 200, 300
- Working knowledge of EMS protocols, Medical First Responder or Emergency Medical Technician
