About the position

The Shift Supervisor - Warehouse Labor is responsible for managing a crew of warehouse personnel, overseeing customer relations, and ensuring the efficient operation of the warehouse. This role includes fulfilling the responsibilities of the On-Site Manager in their absence, promoting a safe working environment, and achieving performance standards while maintaining core values.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate expectations and goals to employees daily, weekly, and monthly.
  • Promote a safe working environment and ensure safety standards are met.
  • Communicate customer needs or concerns effectively.
  • Recruit, coach, train, and provide feedback to the On-Site Manager.
  • Accountable for achieving results while maintaining core values and safety standards.
  • Conduct safety and shift start-up meetings with employees.
  • Complete all production paperwork accurately.
  • Communicate employee issues directly with the On-Site Manager.
  • Load and unload materials from trailers.
  • Move pallets or materials around the storage facility.
  • Stack pallets or materials following inventory control instructions.
  • Check to ensure loads are secure.
  • Ensure all employees are working safely and following safety policies.
  • Perform daily equipment checks on industrial power equipment.
  • Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment that meets company standards.
  • Assist with forklift driver duties as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3+ years applicable experience in manufacturing, supply chain/logistics, or distribution environments.
  • 1+ years in a supervisory role.
  • Experience in small, start-up organizations is helpful.

Nice-to-haves

  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
  • Proficient in MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Desire and ability to provide excellent customer service.
