About the position
The Shipment Research Validation Analyst I at ABF Freight is responsible for inspecting shipments, ensuring the accuracy of freight bill descriptions, and applying the correct tariff rates. This role manages the W&R reweigh program, which includes training forklift operators and maintaining equipment to achieve high reweigh rates. The position requires collaboration with team members and effective communication with the Sales department and customers.
Responsibilities
- Check and maintain all W&R equipment.
- Promote the W&R reweigh program at the local distribution center and assigned end of line service centers, and take action to ensure reweigh frequencies are at or above goals set by W&R Management.
- Maintain a positive attitude in a highly intense environment.
- Work in a team setting to accomplish department goals.
- Other duties and projects, as assigned.
- Inspect shipments and provide complete and accurate documentation for proper corrections to freight bills.
- Train and educate service center personnel concerning proper reweigh procedures.
- Communicate with Sales department and customers concerning the correct commodity descriptions for Bills of Lading.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree, preferred
- Previous experience in Service Center operations, preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, preferred
- Understanding of ABF tariff rules and applications, preferred
- Understanding of ABF Pricing policies and procedures, preferred
- Understanding of the NMFC Classification and their rules and application, preferred
- Understanding of the Service Center operations, required
- Understanding of scale and dock tablet operations and use, required
