About the position

Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently seeking Production Warehouse Shipper-Packers to support a U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (Shawnee) facility located at 23501 W 84th Street Shawnee, KS 66227. The role of the Shipper-Packer is crucial in ensuring that Veteran beneficiaries receive accurate new and refill prescriptions in a timely manner. In this role, the Shipper-Packer will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to the preparation and packaging of medications. This includes inserting drug bottles, medication guides, and other printed materials into envelopes or packages, labeling, and sealing these packages in accordance with the CMOP packing standard operating procedures. The Shipper-Packer will also prepare finished products for shipment or storage, which involves selecting the appropriate type and size of container, verifying the contents, and ensuring that items are securely packed to prevent damage during transit. The position requires the operation of various types of packaging equipment and the ability to read computer screens and use scanning equipment effectively. Additionally, maintaining a clean and orderly work area is essential to ensure efficiency and safety in the workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Insert drug bottles, medication, medication guides, and other printed material into envelopes or packages, appropriately label, and seal packages for mail distribution.
  • Prepare finished products for shipment or storage by placing them in shipping containers according to CMOP packing standard operating procedures.
  • Verify content by knowledge of various items of stock.
  • Select appropriate type and size of container for packaging.
  • Insert enclosures in containers and use materials to prevent breakage or damage.
  • Close and seal containers securely.
  • Apply labels or enter identifying data on containers.
  • Operate various types of packaging equipment as required.
  • Read computer screens and use scanning equipment effectively.
  • Respond to alarms and alerts as necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of general work experience.
  • Ability to maintain effective interpersonal communications with co-workers and staff.
  • Basic keyboard and PC computer skills.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when required; push or pull up to 150 pounds on a rolling cart or using a pallet jack.
  • Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time.
