About the position

Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently seeking Production Warehouse Shipper-Packers to support a U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (CMOP) facility located in Shawnee, Kansas. The primary responsibility of the Shipper-Packer is to ensure that Veteran beneficiaries receive accurate new and refill prescriptions in a timely manner. This role is crucial in the CMOP prescription fulfillment process, which involves handling various medications and printed materials with care and precision. The Shipper-Packer will be required to insert drug bottles, medication guides, and other printed materials into envelopes or packages, appropriately label, and seal these packages in preparation for mail distribution. This process must adhere to the CMOP packing standard operating procedures, which dictate the specific operations based on the type, size, and number of units to be packed, as well as the type of container and method of shipment. The role may involve verifying the content of stock items, selecting the appropriate type and size of container, inserting enclosures, using protective materials to prevent damage, closing and sealing containers, and applying labels or entering identifying data on the container. Additionally, the Shipper-Packer will operate various types of packaging equipment and must be able to read computer screens and use scanning equipment effectively. Maintaining a clean and orderly work area is also a key responsibility. Responsibilities

  • Insert drug bottles, medication, medication guides, and other printed material into envelopes or packages.
  • Label and seal packages in preparation for mail distribution according to CMOP packing standard operating procedures.
  • Prepare finished products for shipment or storage by placing them in shipping containers based on the type, size, and number of units to be packed.
  • Verify content of various stock items to ensure accuracy.
  • Select appropriate type and size of container for packaging.
  • Insert enclosures in containers and use protective materials to prevent breakage or damage.
  • Close and seal containers securely.
  • Apply labels or enter identifying data on containers as required.
  • Operate various types of packaging equipment efficiently.
  • Read computer screens and use scanning equipment as needed.
  • Respond to alarms and alerts during the packaging process.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of general work experience.
  • Ability to maintain effective interpersonal communications with co-workers and staff.
  • Basic keyboard and PC computer skills.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when required.
  • Ability to push or pull up to 150 pounds on a rolling cart or using a pallet jack.
  • Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time, stoop, reach upward, bend, lift, and perform repetitive motions as required.
  • Understanding of precautions required when handling hazardous materials and hazardous waste.
