About the position
The Shipping and Logistics Coordinator serves as the primary liaison between contracted carriers, retail stores, and distribution centers. This role is essential for ensuring that shipments are tracked and delivered on time, while also addressing any service issues that may arise. The coordinator will utilize Microsoft Excel for reporting and analysis, and will be responsible for maintaining communication with all parties involved in the shipping process.
Responsibilities
- Act as the key contact for contracted carriers, retail stores, and distribution centers.
- Conduct daily tracking and tracing of carrier shipments.
- Proactively follow up to ensure service expectations are met.
- Communicate potential service failures to relevant parties (i.e., supervisor, carrier, store).
- Coordinate with stores to ensure timely specialized deliveries.
- Tender outbound loads to contracted carriers through TMS (E2Open) if required.
- Create and analyze a variety of reports using Microsoft Excel.
- Audit carrier schedules and delivery timelines for accuracy.
- Address customer service hotline inquiries and provide troubleshooting support.
- Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as needed.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience in shipping and logistics coordination.
- Strong communication skills to liaise with various stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze reports and data effectively.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) such as E2Open.
- Familiarity with customer service operations in logistics.
