About the position
The Shipping and Receiving Associate at Solar Atmospheres of Michigan is responsible for ensuring customer orders are handled with care throughout the shipping and receiving process. This full-time role operates during regular business hours, with occasional overtime, and includes responsibilities such as loading and unloading products, maintaining accurate inventory records, and serving as a backup delivery driver when needed.
Responsibilities
- Receive, pull, and pack orders for customers
- Load and unload trucks as needed
- Check materials into the computer system to keep accurate records and inventory
- Operate standard warehouse equipment such as forklifts, rolling ladders, skid loaders, and other material handling tools
- Collaborate and assist co-workers in the shipping department, delivery drivers, and Furnace Operators
- Serve as a backup driver when needed to deliver customer orders or run errands using a company Sprinter van
- Interact with customers professionally and helpfully, assisting in unloading deliveries, and ensuring paperwork needed is complete (when serving as a backup driver)
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma
- Prior shipping/receiving and delivery driving experience, preferred
- Proficiency in ERP systems and UPS Worldship
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Reliability and dependability are a must to ensure our customer's products ship on time
- Organizational skills, efficiency, the ability to work independently, and computer skills
- Ability to bend, stoop, lift up to 50lbs, and work around material handling equipment
- Currently possess or can obtain a Michigan Chauffeur's License
