About the position

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk at United Precision Corporation is responsible for managing the packaging and shipment of high-precision parts, handling incoming and outgoing shipments, and maintaining inventory of raw materials. This role requires collaboration with various internal teams and may involve fabricating custom shipping crates, necessitating woodworking skills and tool experience. The position also includes occasional driving for pickups and deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Receive and inspect incoming goods for accuracy and quality, comparing them to purchase orders and shipping documents.
• Ensure all received items are entered into SAP and matched to corresponding purchase orders.
• Prepare items for shipping, including boxing, labeling, and maintaining records of outgoing shipments.
• Measure, weigh, stamp, and saw raw materials as needed.
• Manage inventory by organizing stock and maintaining accurate records.
• Assist with loading and unloading delivery trucks using equipment such as forklifts.
• Process returned goods, documenting damages and discrepancies, and returning items to stock.
• Coordinate with Purchasing and Quality for pickups and deliveries, ensuring timely transport of goods.
• Resolve shipping issues and complaints, escalating complex issues to management as needed.
• Assist with general shop tasks during downtime.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 to 3 years of relevant shipping and receiving experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Forklift certified or ability to become certified within 90 days of employment.
