About the position
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for preparing items for shipment, verifying order processes, and maintaining accurate shipment records. This role involves working closely with logistics personnel and supervisors to ensure efficient operations in the warehouse and shipping areas.
Responsibilities
- Accurately pick and process all parts orders using the MRP system.
- Verify quantity picked against the quantity ordered and check for completeness of each order.
- Communicate with the Supervisor regarding any questions or discrepancies with shipments.
- Assist in maintaining the physical inventory, including cycle counting and proper storage.
- Unpack and examine incoming shipments, rejecting damaged items and recording shortages.
- Maintain a neat and organized warehouse and shipping area, keeping aisles clean.
- Operate forklift trucks/pickers or use pallet jacks to transport parts and shipments.
- Coordinate with the warehouse supervisor to order materials and maintain adequate stock.
- Maintain all warehouse equipment and shipping systems in proper working order.
- Assist in locating, staging, and loading outgoing orders.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Two to three years of previous warehouse and/or shipping experience.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Systems.
- Working knowledge of MRP or similar software programs.
- Experience with operating FedEx, UPS, and LTL online portals.
- Ability to operate forklift trucks and pallet jacks.
Nice-to-haves
- Forklift certification is preferred.
