About the position

The Shipping and Receiving Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting the Logistics Department by ensuring that shipping and receiving operations run smoothly and efficiently. This position requires a proactive individual with a strong attention to detail, capable of coordinating schedules to meet customer deadlines. The coordinator will be responsible for processing orders, scheduling dock appointments, maintaining shipping files, and handling billing and material movement transactions. The role demands a high level of organization and the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently while working independently. In addition to the traditional tasks associated with shipping and receiving, the coordinator will need to utilize customer routing guides and order notes to ensure that the correct shipping methods are employed. Effective communication is essential, as the coordinator will be required to relay transaction details to relevant department personnel. The ability to adapt to changing workload priorities and meet order schedules with quality results is critical. The position also requires proficiency in computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office, to manage documentation and reporting effectively. The work environment for this position includes exposure to a warehouse setting, necessitating the use of close-toed shoes for safety. The individual will also work in a typical office environment, characterized by ambient room temperature and standard office equipment. Physical demands include the ability to sit, stand, and walk for a minimum of 8 hours per day, as well as the capability to lift up to 25 pounds when necessary. Proper lifting techniques must be adhered to in order to maintain safety and efficiency in the workplace.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in scheduling shipping and receiving dock appointments.
  • Familiarity with customer routing guides and order notes.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Strong attention to detail and proactive thinking.
  • Computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office.

  • Experience with SAP-B1.
