About the position

The Shipping and Receiving Lead is responsible for overseeing and executing the daily operations related to the receipt and distribution of materials. This role ensures compliance with shipping regulations, coordinates with various departments, and maintains accurate logistics records. The lead will also manage vehicle logistics and support project planning with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform daily operations of Shipping and Receiving functions.
• Process and handle domestic and international shipments of hazardous and non-hazardous goods.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain, Purchasing, and Accounting to resolve receipt issues and discrepancies in invoices.
• Transport materials to different sites and make required deliveries.
• Complete required trainings and prepare for audits.
• Establish connections with vendors and couriers, and support project planning.
• Work with Customs/FDA for import/export declarations of pharmaceutical samples and lab equipment.
• Manage vehicle lease contracts, services, and registrations.
• Order logistics supplies for the Shipping and Receiving Team.
• Update and maintain logistics systems and accounts.
• Verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Utilize technologies for processing shipping/receiving orders.
• Determine method of shipment based on procedures, routes, and rates.
• Prepare items for shipment and affix shipping labels.
• Unpack and examine incoming shipments, and rectify damages and shortages.
• Examine outgoing shipments to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Maintain inventory and tracking of shipping materials and supplies.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Driver's License
• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Customer service and professional demeanor
• Self-starter, motivated, team player
• Highly organized with excellent record-keeping abilities
• Ability to frequently move and lift 50+ pounds
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• International Air Transport Association (IATA) certification
