About the position
The Shipping and Receiving position at Branex Group involves overseeing the logistics of incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness while maintaining the condition of all materials. The role requires assessing current processes and implementing improvements, as well as supervising the movement of freight and stock. This entry-level position is essential for maintaining efficient operations within the manufacturing process.
Responsibilities
- Oversee incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and condition of shipments.
- Assess current processes, make recommendations, and implement improvements.
- Issue work orders or oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
- Supervise and direct the movement of freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, ships, or containers.
- Ensure that cargo is identified and inspected before loading and unloading and compared to shippers.
- Document and handle discrepancies according to proper procedure.
- Inspect material handling equipment for defects and notify maintenance accordingly.
- Compile records related to shipping and receiving.
- Maintain equipment storage areas to ensure that inventory is protected.
- Supervise the completion of general yard duties, such as housekeeping, cleanup, inventory/material counts, and general organization.
Requirements
- Entry-level position with a solid knowledge of logistics and JIT deliveries.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
- Forklift operation skills, with a preference for a fork truck license.
Nice-to-haves
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with ERP systems and material handling software.
