About the position

The Shipping and Transportation Coordinator at AgReliant Genetics is responsible for coordinating the shipping of seed to customers and between production locations. This role involves optimizing shipping strategies, managing logistics, and ensuring compliance with customer service standards. The coordinator will work closely with various teams to enhance shipping processes and maintain positive relationships with customers and carriers.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the shipping of seed to customers and between production locations.
• Functional lead for route optimization software at the production location.
• Work with Inventory and Quality coordinator on warehouse supply.
• Upgrade shipping strategy and review processes with sales and logistics teams.
• Resolve customer and logistic disputes.
• Ensure compliance and positive customer interactions with our brands.
• Report customer service issues to the Location Manager.
• Utilize shipping programs to maximize resources and service quality.
• Prepare necessary paperwork for warehouse operations and drivers.
• Conduct root cause analysis for customer service complaints related to shipping.
• Monitor freight expenses and manage billing for payment.
• Schedule trucking using outside carriers for deliveries and transfers.
• Recruit and maintain relationships with carriers and drivers.
• Train drivers to ensure high levels of customer service and professionalism.
• Manage documentation and invoicing from trucking companies.
• Monitor and enforce driving policies.

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Ag Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of shipping and transportation experience preferred.
• Experience in the seed production industry preferred.
• Ability to lead, train, develop staff and manage performance.
• Excellent leadership, people management, and relationship/team-building skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organization and planning skills with strong attention to detail.
• Problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of supply chain management and logistics required.
• Knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations desired.
