About the position
The Shipping and Warehouse Associate at Rappahannock Oyster Co. is responsible for assisting in the packing and shipping of seafood products, primarily oysters and clams. This role involves driving box trucks for deliveries, working in a cold room environment, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will be hardworking, reliable, and team-oriented, with a passion for the seafood industry.
Responsibilities
- Driving a mix of 16 and 24-foot box trucks and refrigerated cargo vans.
- Working in the cold room packing oysters, clams, and other seafood into boxes for distribution.
- Using both a forklift and pallet jack to move products.
- Ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal health and safety regulations related to receiving and shipping oysters (HACCP, DSS, etc.).
- Preparing boxes and supplies for upcoming shipments.
- Supporting operations by gathering and transporting supplies to the farms.
Requirements
- Valid Driver's License is required.
- Pallet Jack Certification is preferred.
- Experience in warehouse operations is required.
