About the position

The position is responsible for the safe packing of materials as stated on production routings and bills of materials or as required by supervisor. This role involves performing entry-level warehouse functions including pulling and packing materials for production or customer orders, as well as receiving, shipping, and stock storing. The employee will utilize hand-held scanners and computer terminals to access and enter data, working under direct supervision and following standard operating procedures. The position requires meeting productivity and quality goals while operating all equipment in a safe and professional manner. Additionally, the employee is expected to keep the work area clean and organized, assist in maintaining the entire facility, and adhere to ISO and EHS guidelines. Understanding the DWK Quality Policy and relevant quality objectives is essential, as is recognizing the contribution to the effectiveness of the operations and the impact of not conforming with operational standards. Safety precautions, rules, and regulations must be observed at all times, and other duties may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

• Ability to read, write and perform basic arithmetic; maintain neat, accurate and complete records and logs, both manually and/or electronically; continuous mental and visual attention (eye-hand coordination); basic proficiency with personal computers.
• Performs entry level warehouse functions including pulling and packing materials for production or customer orders; receiving, shipping & stock storing.
• Utilizes hand held scanners and computer terminals to access and enter data.
• Works under direct supervision, following standard operating procedures.
• Meets Productivity and Quality Goals.
• Operates all equipment in a safe and professional manner, while completing tasks on a timely basis.
• Keeps work area clean and well organized and assists in keeping entire facility in the same condition.
• Works within the guidelines of ISO and EHS.
• Understands the DWK Quality Policy and relevant Quality Objectives.
• Recognizes his/her contribution to the effectiveness of the OPS including the benefits of improved performance and comprehends the impact or effect of not conforming with OPS.
• Observes all safety precautions, rules and regulations and maintains work area in a clean and safe manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
• 6 months to 1 year experience working in a production/warehouse environment preferred.
• Familiar with warehouse operations, receiving, shipping, storing and retrieving stock, and associated paperwork preferred.
• Good math, reading, and communication skills required. Legible handwriting a must. Ability to work from verbal or written instructions required.
