Responsibilities

• Produce and review proper shipping paperwork for carriers or forwarding agents and enter correct shipment data into SAP.
• Ensure items are properly packaged for mode of shipment.
• Follow pick list to gather parts for shipment, including the use of fork or hand truck.
• Log shipments to allow for payment approval of freight bills.
• File freight claims.
• Receive cross-training from Material Control Attendants as determined by supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including periodic overtime or off-shift hours to assure appropriate levels of customer service.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior shipping experience is required.
• 1 year certificate from college or technical school; or 1 year related experience and/or training.
• Experience in use of personal computers and related programs (Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel).
• Experience in use of an ERP system required (SAP preferred).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to process and interpret export documentation.
• Strong ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Ability to function well in a team or group environment.
