About the position
The Shipping Dock Hand is responsible for coordinating the warehousing and receiving of materials at Big Tex Trailer Manufacturing. This role involves overseeing the transport of materials to and from the location, ensuring that material needs are met efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate warehousing and receiving of materials.
- Oversee transport of materials to and from the location.
- Ensure appropriate usage of all required PPE.
- Cut and build shipping blocks using circular saws, nail guns, and other hand tools.
- Use a torque wrench to remove tires from specific trailers.
- Move inspected trailers to designated storage areas using tractors or forklifts.
- Pull trailers and stack for shipping using safe stacking and loading practices.
- Load trucks with trailers for shipment using an overhead crane.
Requirements
- Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills in written and verbal form.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
- Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and maneuver up to 40+ pounds.
