About the position
The Shipping Dockhand is responsible for the safe and accurate management of inventory, packaging, and loading of products to meet corporate goals. This role involves receiving purchase orders, picking and packaging orders, assembling tanks to quality specifications, and assisting other departments as needed.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate material handling equipment.
- Meet expectations on picking accuracy and efficiency.
- Stage and prep loads for shipments to minimize truck driver dock time.
- Validate inventory counts when locating products.
- Package products to ensure zero damage during transit.
- Receive purchase orders delivered to the dock.
- Understand all labeling requirements for inventory and shipping.
- Assist other Triton departments upon request.
Requirements
- Ability to operate material handling equipment safely.
- Strong attention to detail for picking accuracy.
- Knowledge of inventory management and shipping procedures.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in a shipping or warehouse environment.
- Familiarity with 6S practices.
