About the position

Huntsman Corporation is seeking a Shipping Operator to support the Performance Products Division located in Conroe, Texas. This position is crucial for ensuring the safe and productive operations of assigned process units through adherence to all established Operational and Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) policies, procedures, and practices. As a Shipping Operator, you will be responsible for inspecting, loading, and unloading both bulk and non-bulk shipments, which include tank wagons, ISOs, railcars, and box trailers, while maintaining the quality and specifications of the products being handled. You will also be required to fill out and maintain all shipment checklists and records in accordance with loading and unloading procedures, as well as draw product shipping samples for laboratory Certificate of Analysis (COA) analysis. In this role, you will need to maintain a current and detailed knowledge of all shipping area equipment and chemicals that are loaded and unloaded, along with the contents of the Shipping procedures manual and the Conroe EH&S procedures manual as applicable to the Shipping area. You will manage the dropped trailer area and operate a yard mule, as well as perform duties as a Warehouse Forklift Operator. It is essential to maintain good housekeeping habits to ensure the cleanliness, neatness, and order of your work area and equipment. You will also be responsible for submitting work order notifications, issuing Safe Work permits, and participating as a member of the Emergency Response Team and High Angle Rescue team. Additional responsibilities include following instructions and performing other duties as assigned by your supervisor, participating in and completing company-required training programs, and contributing to Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company. You will also assist other employees in achieving Huntsman company goals, making this position integral to the overall success of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and lockout tagout equipment per ECP's for Maintenance per Maintenance Schedule.
  • Maintain good housekeeping habits to ensure cleanliness and order of work area and equipment.
  • Submit work order notifications and issue Safe Work permits.
  • Participate as a member of the Emergency Response Team and High Angle Rescue team.
  • Follow instructions and perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Participate in and complete company-required training programs.
  • Assist other employees in accomplishing Huntsman company goals.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent with 2+ years of specific working experience OR associate degree in Process Technology with 6+ months of specific work experience.
  • 5+ years of chemical plant experience may be substituted in lieu of degree with a preference for experience as a shipping operator.
  • Must have proficiency with internet, email, and Microsoft programs.
  • Must meet Fire Brigade physical requirements including the ability to wear a respirator and carry up to 50-pound equipment.
  • Must be able to climb and work at elevated heights.
  • Must be willing and able to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule and work nights, weekends, and holidays.
