About the position

As a Warehouse Picker (Outbound Associate I) at Protective Industrial Products, Inc. (PIP), you will be an integral part of our distribution center's outbound operations. This full-time position is based in Olive Branch, MS, and involves working on either the 1st or 2nd shift. PIP is a global leader in hand protection and safety products, and your role will directly contribute to our mission of providing high-quality products to our customers. In this position, you will utilize an RF scan gun, electric pallet jack, and/or reach truck to manage inventory and fulfill orders accurately. You will be expected to pick an average of 13 lines per hour while minimizing downtime between picks to no more than 5 minutes. Accuracy is paramount; you will verify product numbers and quantities to ensure that orders are fulfilled correctly. Safety is also a top priority, and you will be required to follow all safety guidelines and procedures when operating equipment and handling products. Maintaining a clean and organized work area is essential for facilitating efficient picking and storage. You will also participate in inventory counts and assist in managing warehouse inventory accuracy. Effective communication with supervisors and team members regarding order status and any issues encountered is crucial to ensure smooth operations. Adhering to all company policies, procedures, and compliance regulations is expected in this role.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse setting, especially in picking or material handling, preferred.
  • Ability to operate an electric pallet jack, reach truck, and/or RF scan gun with proficiency.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
