About The Position

The Shipping & Receiving Clerk B at Lockheed Martin is responsible for packing, preserving, crating, and preparing helicopter components and parts for shipment. This role involves using various tools to fabricate shipping containers, ensuring compliance with military and commercial shipping standards, and maintaining inventory of shipping supplies. Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, add, and subtract whole numbers for checking shipping paperwork.
  • 2 to 3 months of equivalent SIK experience.

Responsibilities

  • Pack, preserve, crate, and prepare helicopter components and parts for shipment.
  • Use power and hand tools to fabricate shipping containers and crates.
  • Layout, drill, and bolt supporting framework to prefabricated shipping containers.
  • Stencil and strap items in accordance with MIL standards or commercial practices.
  • Prepare and check all paperwork necessary for shipping military or commercial items.
  • Determine shipping routes and check parcel post zone rates.
  • Load outgoing items onto freight cars or trucks.
  • Unload and store containers, boxes, and materials used in processing items.
  • Maintain inventory of shipping supplies and post daily accumulations of shipments.
  • Contact carriers regarding pick up of shipments and verify quantities of packed containers.
