About the position

The position involves accurately and efficiently receiving and sending shipments, moving items as requested by staff and faculty, and maintaining and updating the fixed-asset inventory for the College. The role is essential for ensuring that materials are received correctly and that inventory is managed effectively. The individual will work closely with various departments to ensure smooth operations and timely deliveries.

Responsibilities

  • Receives materials and compares the items with information on packaging materials and the College Purchase Orders to verify accuracy.
  • Tags High-Risk and Capital Asset items with asset tags and enters them in Colleague upon receipt.
  • Works with Purchasing Clerk to ensure access to all POs to match with incoming items.
  • Reviews outstanding purchase orders weekly and follows up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
  • Periodically runs inventory reports and verifies the location of inventory items.
  • Delivers items to requisitioning departments and obtains authorized signatures for accepted items.
  • Works with the Operations Coordinator to set up and/or change receiving and inventory control processes for better efficiencies.
  • Enters received Purchase Orders in Colleague and informs Accounts Payable for invoice payment.
  • Tracks lost shipments and/or customer claims to obtain Proof-Of-Delivery documents.
  • Receives and processes service request and inventory adjustment documents.
  • Moves furniture and any items requested to be moved, disposed of, and/or posted for resale, including assembly of some items.
  • Posts assets on GovDeals for sale and coordinates pick up of sold items.
  • Prepares Monthly Inventory reports and sends them to the Accounting Office by the 15th of each month.
  • Manages Surplus by keeping the warehouse organized and disposing of old, damaged items when replaced with incoming items.
  • Maintains Fleet Vehicles, including cleaning, routine maintenance, and reservation requests.
  • Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • NC Certified Forklift Operator certification.
  • Valid NC Driver's License.
