About the position
The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator at Sensient Technologies will oversee the daily operations of the shipping department to ensure timely fulfillment of customer orders. This role involves managing pick validation, monitoring shipments, and coordinating with various departments to address any exceptions in the order fulfillment process. The coordinator will also be responsible for optimizing shipping routes and consolidating shipments to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Manage pick validation to ensure all picks are accounted for and in process of completion.
- Monitor daily shipments to ensure they are completed and confirmed in the system.
- Schedule expedited and refrigerated shipments and call for routings.
- Print and review picks within established lead times, ensuring workable picks for the shipping floor.
- Route, build, consolidate, and configure shipments to ensure timely service and cost-effectiveness.
- Communicate with customer operations to change existing printed picks as needed.
- Coordinate retrieval of materials from outside warehouses to fulfill customer orders.
- Utilize JDE Reports to plan shipping workload effectively and seek improvements in customer service.
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of traffic experience preferred.
- DOT 49 CFR & IATA Training/Certification preferred.
- Training in Export Trade regulations and applicable regulations.
- Experience with all forms of Traffic delivery systems (air, water, rail, LTL, etc.) required.
