About the position

The Shipping Receiving Coordinator plays a vital supporting role to the Shipping Receiving Supervisor, focusing on the ministry's shipping needs both onsite and offsite. This position involves understanding mailing requirements, utilizing shipping software, assisting with freight orders, and ensuring that all product orders are packed and shipped correctly. The coordinator will also assist in receiving orders and managing inventory effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Shipping Receiving Supervisor in verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Prepare items for shipment and assist in directing others for outgoing and incoming shipments.
  • Create and maintain management reports as requested.
  • Determine the method of shipment using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
  • Verify information against bills of lading, invoices, and orders by counting, weighing, or measuring items.
  • Affix shipping labels on packed cartons and operate a strapping machine.
  • Coordinate weekly Marketing Mail orders and manage paperwork and processing at local BMEU.
  • Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, and record shortages.
  • Examine outgoing shipments to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Operate fork truck, pallet jack, or hand truck to move shipments to storage or work areas.
  • Maintain and restock inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Identify problems quickly and develop plans to solve issues, seeking assistance as needed.
  • Cross-train in additional Coordinator positions to cover during vacations and assist other Coordinators as necessary.

Requirements

  • Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and sign a Statement of Faith.
  • High school diploma or equivalent education is required.
  • Charis Bible College student or graduate is preferred.
  • Certified or ability to be certified in the operation of Fork Truck.
  • Clean Driving Record and insurable to operate a company vehicle.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Prior work-related experience preferred, with 2+ years of supervisory responsibilities preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficient or able to become proficient in Excel, MS Office, Smartsheet & MS Access within 90 days.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
