About the position
The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator at Paslin Company is responsible for managing the shipping and receiving of materials at the Pontiac facility. This role requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to ensure that all incoming and outgoing shipments meet company standards and project objectives. The position involves operating various equipment, maintaining accurate inventory records, and adhering to safety procedures while supporting the overall manufacturing strategy.
Responsibilities
- Ensure material is unpacked and examined upon incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
- Enter receiving data into ERP system (Dynamics AX 2012) for accurate inventory tracking.
- Operate overhead crane, pallet jack, and forklift in loading and unloading supplies and equipment, may operate company vehicle to deliver shipments.
- Route items to departments.
- Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
- Prepare documents for shipment including bill of lading, any export documentation, packing list, photos of shipments and any other documentation required.
- Determine proper methods for packing and labeling material for shipment.
- Unload and sort various fabrications and details, while matching to prints.
- Support the manufacturing strategy and continually drive efforts to streamline shipping and receiving activities.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 1+ years of related shipping/receiving experience.
- Experience with an ERP System, Microsoft AX preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Great attention to detail.
- Ability to safely drive a forklift.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task, while maintaining organization.
- Data entry skills.
- Ability to read, write and complete basic math.
