About the position
The Shop Assistant at IP Automation Inc. is responsible for setting up, adjusting, and operating various machine tools, including CNC machining centers. This role involves performing assembly duties, material handling, and ensuring the proper functioning of machines. The position is ideal for individuals who are dependable, detail-oriented, and enjoy working in a team environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up, adjust, and operate basic machine tools such as horizontal saws, vertical saws, belt sanders, and CNC machining centers.
- Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
- Perform assembly duties as instructed by the trainer or assigned by the supervisor.
- Handle materials using cranes and forklifts.
- Fill and clean CNC machines.
Requirements
- Approximately 1-5 years of experience in a similar role.
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1 year of experience in MIG welding (preferred).
- Ability to work with tape measures, scales, and digital calipers.
