Responsibilities

  • Cleans and mops revenue vehicles, support vehicles, and VIA facilities as required.
  • Cleans bus stop locations and bus service stations.
  • Cleans equipment, bus ceilings, windows, floors, wheels, and scrubs tailgates.
  • Operates and drives VIA revenue buses, paratransit vehicles, cars, trucks, tugs, and forklifts safely.
  • Maintains and prepares records related to cleaning and maintenance activities.
  • Follows oral and written instructions for cleaning and maintenance tasks.
  • Reports hazards and unsafe conditions to supervisors.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and write English effectively.
  • Must possess a Texas Commercial Drivers Learners' License (CDL) (Class-B).
  • Must obtain a Texas Commercial Drivers License (CDL) (Class-B) prior to completion of probationary period.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
  • Knowledge of job and occupational hazards and safety precautions required in the shops.
  • Ability to perform job assignments while wearing mandatory safety equipment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Possession of a current CDL Class-A or Class-B license with Passenger Endorsement is preferred.
