About the position

As a Shop Controller at Sulzer, you will play a crucial role in the financial management of the company, specifically overseeing accounting functions that contribute to approximately one quarter of the company's turnover. You will be one of three Shop Controllers, working closely with Business Partners to deliver complete and accurate financial information that supports business management and decision-making processes. Your responsibilities will include preparing budgets and forecasts in collaboration with Business Partners, monitoring and reporting on capital expenditures, and supporting initiatives aimed at cost reduction and process improvement. In this position, you will enforce internal controls that comply with corporate policies and local regulations, ensuring that all costs are accurately posted into Work In Progress (WIP). You will also investigate any inventory deviations related to raw materials, WIP, and finished products, and support both internal and external audits. Additionally, you will assist the legal entity Controller with entity-level reporting requirements and ad hoc queries, adapting and implementing procedures for the controlling function while promoting the sharing of best practices across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver complete and accurate financial information for business management and decision-making.
  • Prepare the budget and forecast in conjunction with Business Partners.
  • Monitor and report capital expenditures.
  • Support Business Partners in cost reduction and process improvement initiatives.
  • Enforce internal controls adhering to corporate policies and local regulations.
  • Ensure accurate postings of costs into Work In Progress (WIP).
  • Investigate inventory deviations for raw materials, WIP, and finished products.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Assist the legal entity Controller with entity-level reporting requirements and ad hoc queries.
  • Adapt and implement procedures for the controlling function and promote sharing of best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with a concentration in accounting.
  • Five (5) years of experience as Financial Analyst, Accountant, Accounting Supervisor, or Controller.
  • Experience using SAP and accounting for a manufacturer.
