About the position

The Shop Foreman at MV Transportation is responsible for managing all maintenance operations during their shift, ensuring the preventative maintenance and repair of vehicles. This role includes overseeing maintenance and utility staff, meeting contractual requirements, and managing the maintenance program budget. The Shop Foreman will also be involved in training and developing maintenance staff and collaborating with the Fleet Manager for daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Manage all maintenance aspects of the operation during the shift.
• Oversee preventative maintenance and repair of vehicles.
• Ensure all contractual requirements are achieved.
• Handle daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reporting responsibilities.
• Manage the maintenance program budget.
• Train and develop maintenance staff.
• Work with the Fleet Manager on day-to-day business operations.

Requirements

• ASE Certification preferred.
• Mid-level electrical experience.
• Experience with air conditioning systems, transmissions, and electrical diagnosis.
• Ability to track and control parts inventories, vendors, and suppliers.
• Strong communication skills in written and oral formats.
• Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Outlook.
• Technical competence with heavy diesel vehicle repair and preventive maintenance.

Nice-to-haves

• Diesel experience preferred.
• ASE certified truck or school bus preferred.
