About the position

The position at Quality Carriers involves assisting mechanics in performing preventive maintenance and repairs on various mechanical systems related to tractors and cargo tank trailers. This entry-level role is essential for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the company's transportation services, which are critical in the logistics and transportation industry.

Responsibilities

• Assist mechanics in performing preventive maintenance inspections on tractors and cargo tank trailers.
• Help with moderate to complex repairs on engines, drive trains, brakes, suspension systems, hydraulic systems, fuel systems, cooling systems, alternators, electrical systems, and other necessary power equipment.
• Operate steaming machinery and connect, monitor, and disconnect steam to the heating coils of a loaded cargo tank.
• Document heating operations on a steam log.
• Verify product names on the bill of lading with Safety Data Sheets (SDS) prior to conducting steam operations.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required, trade or technical school graduate.
• 1-2 years of basic maintenance and/or mechanic experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Strong computer skills.
• Ability to carry out instructions accurately.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
• Able to operate heavy machinery similar to steamer or boiler.
• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of mechanical components.
• Knowledge of using standard hand and power tools.
• Team player.
