About the position

The Shop Manager & Delivery Driver at Hittle Construction is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the shop, ensuring tools and materials are organized and maintained, while also delivering construction materials to job sites. This role combines shop management with delivery responsibilities, requiring strong organizational skills and a commitment to safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient shop environment.
• Manage inventory of tools, equipment, and materials.
• Receive, inspect, and store incoming deliveries of construction supplies.
• Track inventory levels and place orders for replenishment when necessary.
• Coordinate maintenance and repairs of tools and equipment.
• Ensure all safety protocols are adhered to within the shop.
• Assist with preparation of materials for upcoming projects.
• Safely drive company vehicles to deliver construction materials and equipment to job sites.
• Ensure timely deliveries while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Load and unload materials and equipment with care, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
• Communicate with project managers and site supervisors regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
• Inspect company vehicles and report any maintenance or repair needs.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Proven experience in a shop management or similar role.
• Experience in construction or related fields is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to lift heavy materials and equipment (up to 50 lbs).
• Knowledge of basic construction tools, materials, and equipment.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility and adaptability to handle various tasks as needed.
