About the position
The Shop Service Technician at LiftOne is responsible for performing maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting on various models of Hyster-Yale forklifts and other material handling equipment. This role emphasizes the importance of safety, customer service, and teamwork, as experienced technicians will also assist in training apprentice technicians. The position offers a family-oriented work environment with opportunities for career growth and development.
Responsibilities
- Perform periodic maintenance, repair, replacement, and troubleshooting on Hyster-Yale forklifts and competitive material handling equipment.
- Assist with training and mentoring apprentice technicians through on-the-job training.
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies while performing work.
- Properly identify and order necessary replacement parts.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma, G.E.D., or tech school graduate preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to repair equipment per skill level.
- Basic computer/tablet knowledge (Microsoft and Apple operating systems).
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine correspondence.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Hyster-Yale forklifts or similar equipment.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and drivetrains.
