About the position

The Short Term Associate Graphic Designer at Rue Gilt Groupe is tasked with designing and developing both digital and print assets to support the Rue La La and Gilt teams. This role is ideal for individuals who are eager to contribute to a dynamic retail fashion environment and possess a sophisticated aesthetic sense. The designer will be responsible for executing on-brand designs that demonstrate a thoughtful approach to layout, image composition, typography, and color palette. The anticipated duration for this position is until January 10, 2025. In this role, the designer will create a variety of assets for Boutiques, Marketing, and Acquisitions, which includes designing Boutique Main doors, advertising materials, and internal creative needs. The designer will work collaboratively with team members such as Copywriters, Marketing Managers, Art Directors, and other Designers to ensure that projects are completed from conceptualization through to final approval. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards and adapting to changing priorities is essential. Responsibilities

  • Execute on-brand design demonstrating considered layout, image composition, typography, and a sophisticated use of color palette.
  • Design a variety of assets for Boutiques, Marketing, and Acquisitions, including Boutique Main doors, advertising assets, and internal creative needs, from conceptualization through final approval.
  • Work collaboratively and constructively on each project with other team members including Copywriters, Marketing Managers, Art Directors, Designers, and Brand Operations.
  • Develop designs in a fast-paced environment without compromising quality, and be able to shift priorities based on changing calendars.

Requirements

  • 0-2 years of relevant work experience as a junior designer or as a designer in an agency or in-house creative group.
  • Skilled with imaging applications such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe InDesign.
  • Experience creating and optimizing graphics for the web.
  • A strong portfolio showing training and potential.
  • BA in Graphic Design.

Nice-to-haves

  • Skills and experience with video applications such as Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects are a plus.
  • Any photography or Art Direction experience.
