About the position

The Shortage Control Lead at Burlington Stores, Inc. is responsible for mitigating theft and fraud in high shortage areas of the store while ensuring a safe and secure environment. This role involves engaging with customers and associates, training Shortage Control Associates, and promoting awareness of theft reduction programs. The position requires a confident and positive demeanor to influence behaviors and reduce incidents of theft and fraud.

Responsibilities

  • Provide an effective deterrent to dishonest behaviors throughout the store by demonstrating a command presence.
  • Maintain a safe and secure store with strong attention to detail and effective communication.
  • Engage positively with customers and associates in high-risk areas for shortage.
  • Display knowledge of top shortage areas and support programs to reduce theft.
  • Document indicators of external theft and collaborate with local law enforcement as needed.
  • Support the store manager with internal controls and operational oversight.
  • Provide training and support for associates in shortage reduction programs.
  • Assist in the preparation and execution of the semi-annual inventory process.

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Experience in loss prevention or asset protection.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
