About the position

The Inside/Outside Sales Associate at Baker Interiors Furniture Company is responsible for maximizing sales volume by developing existing business and creating new opportunities in the Southeastern area. This hybrid role requires strong relationship-building skills with the design community, effective communication, and a passion for high-end furniture sales. The associate will engage in both inside and outside sales activities, ensuring exceptional service and adherence to the company's quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Initiate, cultivate, and sustain relationships with the design community.
• Research interior design firms and opportunities for product assortment.
• Schedule product presentations with design firms.
• Maintain and grow sales with existing accounts.
• Open new accounts in collaboration with the showroom manager and VP of Showrooms.
• Inform customers about prices, lead times, and product information.
• Create and maintain quotations for customers until the sale is closed.
• Educate customers on website tools and vendor products.
• Participate in design-oriented events for visibility and networking.
• Generate quarterly territory synopses with updated goals and outreach plans.
• Collaborate with the showroom manager on territory strategies.
• Monitor open orders from placement to delivery.
• Review purchase orders and confirm receipt by the factory.
• Track customer materials required for order completion.
• Update customers on production timing for their orders.
• Contact customers post-invoicing to ensure satisfaction.
• Manage monthly expense budgets with the showroom manager.

Requirements

• 2 years of high-end sales experience, preferably in the furniture/design industry.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to negotiate and analyze sales opportunities.
• Valid Driver's License.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in outside sales.
• Basic knowledge of furniture design history.
