Shuttle Driver - Public Safety

About the position

The Shuttle Driver at Swarthmore College is responsible for providing safe and professional transportation services to students, staff, and faculty across the campus using the Garnet Shuttle. This part-time role requires operating a 14-passenger van under various weather conditions and ensuring the vehicle's safety through regular inspections.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Garnet Shuttle to various points on campus.
• Transport students, staff, and faculty safely.
• Conduct pre/post inspections of the vehicle to ensure safe operation.
• Document and report any deficiencies or damage to the on-duty supervisor.

Requirements

• Valid Class C Drivers License.
• Ability to operate an ADA accessible ramp.
• Clean driving record and accident-free for a minimum of 6 years.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous driving experience as a shuttle driver.
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred.
