About the position

We are seeking a talented and creative Signage Designer to join our dynamic team at our signage company located in Snohomish County. This full-time position is ideal for individuals who possess a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of branding, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. As a Signage Designer, you will be responsible for developing concepts and designs for various types of signage, including interior and exterior signage, wayfinding systems, and environmental graphics. You will collaborate closely with clients and the lead designer to ensure that all designs meet client expectations and adhere to brand guidelines. In this role, you will create proofs for a wide range of signage needs, which may include illuminated exterior signage, marketing graphics, and ADA-compliant interior signs. You will also be tasked with reading architectural prints to determine the best locations for signage and how to mount them effectively. Additionally, you will create Master Sign Plans for new developments, ensuring compliance with local sign code requirements, and prepare permit drawings for signage installations according to jurisdiction-specific regulations. The Signage Designer will also be involved in designing comprehensive interior signage packages that comply with ADA guidelines and will work closely with fabricators and installers throughout the design process to ensure that concepts are practical and cost-effective. You will be expected to extract logos, colors, fonts, and graphics from client websites when formal brand guidelines are not available. Proficiency in CorelDRAW and Adobe Illustrator is essential, and familiarity with Photoshop and 3D modeling software is a plus. Responsibilities

  • Create proofs for a variety of signage needs, including illuminated exterior signage, marketing graphics, wayfinding, and interior ADA signs while adhering to client brand guidelines.
  • Read architectural prints to determine appropriate locations for signage and how best to mount them to a structure.
  • Create Master Sign Plans for new developments, ensuring compliance with sign code requirements of the jurisdiction.
  • Prepare permit drawings for signage installations, adhering to each jurisdiction's specific permit requirements.
  • Design interior signage packages that comply with ADA guidelines.
  • Collaborate with fabricators and installers throughout the design process to ensure signage concepts are practical and cost-effective to build.
  • Engage in business branding and/or re-branding efforts.
  • Design all final proofs with precise scaling and specific material descriptions for the production team.
  • Extract logos, colors, fonts, and graphics from client websites in lieu of formal brand guidelines.

Requirements

  • 1 year of graphic design experience.
  • 1 year of experience with Adobe Creative Suite, including Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Proficiency in CorelDRAW is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural prints.
  • Strong understanding of branding and spatial awareness.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with 3D modeling software is a plus.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new design challenges.
