About the position

The Signal/Imaging Processing Engineer will develop advanced signal and image processing algorithms for missile product lines, focusing on areas such as target detection, automatic recognition, and image correction. The role involves creating complex models and simulations, evaluating system performance, and verifying requirements, while also presenting technical materials to leadership and customers. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter who thrives in a collaborative environment and aims to become a technical expert in algorithm development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop signal and image processing algorithms for missile product lines.
  • Create models and simulations to evaluate system performance in complex scenarios.
  • Verify system and subsystem level requirements.
  • Present technical materials to internal leadership and external customers.
  • Work collaboratively with a team of subject matter experts.

Requirements

  • Degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, physics, computer science, applied mathematics, or similar.
  • 5-8 years of experience in developing and analyzing algorithms related to signal/image processing.
  • 5-8 years of experience in programming languages such as C, Matlab, and Python.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with linear algebra software packages.
  • Strong programming skills for C development in a Linux environment.
  • Experience deploying algorithms that meet real-time performance requirements.
  • Experience with complex algorithms in embedded systems.
  • Knowledge of artificial intelligence/machine learning techniques.
  • Familiarity with electro-optical/infrared detection technology and principles of radiometry.
  • Expertise in navigation and inertial tracking algorithms.
  • Proficiency in math related to Kalman filtering, optimal state estimation, and multivariate calculus.
  • Knowledge of clutter rejection techniques.
  • Experience with modeling and simulation of EOIR systems.
