About the position

The Signal Integrity Engineer - Memory Interface will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of memory interfaces in Apple’s System on Chips (SoCs) used in mobile devices. This role involves working on the electrical and physical design of memory systems, focusing on signal and power integrity from the package to the board level. The engineer will collaborate with various teams to optimize designs and validate performance through testing and simulation.

Responsibilities

• Work on electrical and physical design of memory systems.
• Conduct electrical extraction and validation of package and MLB.
• Collaborate with circuit and controller teams to optimize memory system design.
• Perform SI and PI modeling, simulation, and characterization of memory interfaces.
• Develop and execute test plans to validate signal and power integrity.
• Work with product engineering and system engineering to debug and improve product yield.

Requirements

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 10 years of industry experience.
• Experience with DDR or LPDDR interfaces.
• Familiarity with signal and power integrity issues of memory interfaces.
• Prior experience in product package/board design and analysis.
• Experience in PI/SI methodology development and lab correlation/validation of simulation results.
• Strong fundamentals in 3D/2D EM simulation tools and transmission line theory.

Nice-to-haves

• MSEE or Ph.D. with 10 years of industry experience.
• Excellent academic background.
• Familiarity with lab equipment such as VNA, TDR, real-time scope, and spectrum analyzer.
