About the position

The Silicon Alliances Ecosystem Development Manager at Canonical is responsible for fostering partnerships with leading semiconductor companies to enhance open source adoption and optimize hardware performance. This role involves developing joint product roadmaps, managing strategic partnerships, and facilitating cross-functional collaboration to drive business development and market strategies. The position requires a blend of technical knowledge and business acumen, with opportunities for growth across various career levels.

Responsibilities

• Represent Canonical and its solutions to partners.
• Develop a deep understanding of silicon partner strategies and technologies.
• Work cross-functionally with engineering, product, marketing, and sales teams.
• Create, track, and execute robust project plans.
• Develop joint Go To Market strategies and campaigns with silicon partners.
• Negotiate successful contracts.

Requirements

• B.A / B.S / B.E degree in science, technology, or engineering.
• Fundamental understanding of the semiconductor industry.
• Experience in software and system architecture is preferred.
• Customer-facing experience in business development or technology strategy.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to synthesize complex material.
• Ability to think and work at both strategic and tactical levels.
• Disciplined and self-motivated for a remote-first workplace.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with open source software and business models is preferred.
• Team leadership or program management experience.
