As a Barnyard Team Member at Silver Dollar City, you will play a vital role in caring for the park's beloved animals and enhancing guest experiences. This part-time seasonal position starts immediately and runs until December 30, 2024. You will be responsible for interacting with a variety of animals, including goats, chickens, pigs, rabbits, and more, located behind the 1880s Homestead cabin. Your duties will include feeding the animals, cleaning their pens, and ensuring that all assigned tasks are completed efficiently. In this role, you will work closely with various animals such as mules, donkeys, miniature horses, cats, Bloodhound dogs, and sheep, among others. You will also be involved in animal transportation, feeding, and maintaining a clean environment for both the animals and the guests. The position requires standing for prolonged periods, walking on uneven terrain, and pushing loaded carts around the park multiple times a day. Continuous interaction with guests is a key aspect of the job, as you will answer questions, provide information, and share stories about the animals and the Homestead area. The work environment is outdoors, and you will be exposed to various weather conditions. You must be prepared to work in all weather, keep your assigned area clean, and interact with large groups of people. Safety is paramount, and you will need to complete a post-job-offer drug screen and participate in random drug testing. This position is ideal for individuals who are team-oriented, enjoy working with animals, and thrive in a dynamic environment.
