About the position

The Aggregate Plant Operator is responsible for the operation of an aggregate plant and crusher, ensuring consistent production operations while adhering to safety protocols. This role involves operating various equipment, performing physical maintenance tasks, and supporting the plant's daily operations to meet production goals.

Responsibilities

  • Embrace the Company's safety culture and support all safety initiatives.
  • Promote and practice the Company core values, vision, and mission; adhere to established policies.
  • Observe safety procedures and report potentially unsafe conditions.
  • Ensure safe operation of the plant and monitor output to meet production requirements.
  • Adjust manual and computer-aided controls to maintain equipment within operating ranges.
  • Provide guidance to plant ground crew and equipment operators.
  • Maintain daily production logs and assist with operational reports.
  • Communicate professionally with others in person and via company radio.
  • Operate heavy and industrial equipment as needed.
  • Perform manual tasks required in plant operation and maintenance activities.
  • Monitor plant performance and report operational issues to management.
  • Assist with minor equipment maintenance and general housekeeping tasks.
  • Complete other related projects/tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • MSHA certification or ability to acquire certification required.
  • Valid drivers' license with a clean driving history required.
  • 5 or more years of relevant experience in a similar role or equivalent training/experience.
  • Mechanical skill and experience in plant equipment maintenance; basic welding experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in operation of plant equipment and knowledge of plant parts and components.
  • Proficiency with mobile devices and technology used in daily operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules and operating instructions.
  • Ability to problem-solve and recommend solutions.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and interact professionally with others.

Nice-to-haves

  • Basic welding experience is a plus.
