About the position

The Simulation Operations Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Simulation Center at Belmont University. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, this position involves managing simulation equipment, executing realistic scenarios, providing technical support, and ensuring the facility is well-maintained. The specialist collaborates with healthcare educators to enhance simulation-based training and stays updated on advancements in simulation technology.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and maintain a variety of simulation equipment, including mannequins and medical devices.
• Collaborate with instructional staff to implement realistic simulation scenarios that meet educational objectives.
• Provide technical support during simulation sessions, troubleshooting and resolving issues as they arise.
• Ensure the Simulation Center is maintained in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
• Maintain detailed records of equipment usage, maintenance, and repairs, and prepare reports on simulation operations.
• Work closely with healthcare educators to understand their simulation needs and provide appropriate support.
• Stay current with advancements in simulation technology and propose improvements to enhance training effectiveness.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED with some vocational or technical training in healthcare or technology.
• 1-3 years of experience in healthcare or technology field.
• 1-3 years of medical simulation experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Associate or Bachelor degree in a related field.
• Ability to identify issues and propose solutions effectively.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Experience with multiple types of technology and computer programs.
