About the position

The Simulation Operations Technician (Sim Ops Tech) at George Fox University's College of Nursing is a part-time role focused on supporting the logistical operations of the simulation lab. This position collaborates with the Simulation Manager and Coordinator to facilitate on-campus clinical activities, ensuring that simulation equipment and technology are effectively utilized to enhance educational experiences for nursing students.

Responsibilities

  • Support the logistical operations of the simulation lab.
  • Collaborate with the Simulation Manager and Coordinator for on-campus clinical activities.
  • Set up and operate simulation equipment, including manikins and audiovisual technology.
  • Provide technical support based on the day's schedule of scenarios and student outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively and courteously with employees, students, and the public.
  • Demonstrate respect and appreciation for diversity in the workplace.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in healthcare or related field.
  • Strong audiovisual and computer skills.
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Critical thinking skills to solve predictable and unpredictable problems.
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot audiovisual equipment.
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot simulation equipment.
  • Physical ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience supporting healthcare simulation and laboratory education.
  • Familiarity with physiological monitoring systems.
  • Experience with simulation and laboratory technology.
  • A healthcare background.
