About the position

As a Simulator Hardware Engineer at Westinghouse Electric Company, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and supporting the hardware systems that are integral to our innovative energy solutions. Your responsibilities will include the maintenance of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) hardware, which involves tasks such as replacing hard drives and graphics cards. You will be tasked with troubleshooting hardware issues to determine the root cause of problems and defining appropriate fixes to ensure optimal performance of our systems. Additionally, you will adapt plant upgrade architectures to align with simulator architecture, making critical decisions on when to procure identical plant parts versus when to utilize COTS items. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with internal organizations to place demands for deliverable materials, coordinate material inspections, and manage the shipment of materials. You will also be responsible for planning internal system equipment needs and requesting the necessary funding to support these initiatives. Furthermore, you will engage with our Supply Chain organization to obtain quotes and procure the required equipment, ensuring that all hardware components meet our high standards of safety and quality.
